The secret to creation
What
does it take to create something?
Say
you are building a product (internet, software or physical) or
bettering an existing service with a brilliant new offering.
As
someone once said, "Building
a product is so tough. Actually building anything is tough, including building character."
Let
me put it this way - you are a strong willed person, versatile,
clever, with an analytical mind, an eye for detail, sharp business
acumen, original in character and absolutely creative. These might
look as the facets for being in the entrepreneurial league of
gentlemen.
But what really is the key to reviving an ailing business or building something entirely new. One might say, getting lucky to be in the business early on. Well, there are instances when you are lucky to be an early market entrant and gaining the lion's share in the process. Or, you might be a late entrant and have the advantage (as in the case of Google) of watching others fail and striking where no one did.
Then its not really about the timing.

Is
it then the out of the box thinking that helped you come with the
unique concept. Perhaps. But there are a million ideas lying around
you.
If you would use Twitter #discover and search a particular word, there are new tweets by the second that has someone whining about something. Each of this whining is about a problem, and each solution to this problem is in fact an idea.

There
really isn't any idea shortage then, is there?
Is it the knowledge or expertise of being backed by an ivy league business school graduate, who takes charge with reforms and marketing fundas to sell colas (amidst cola wars) to the down-trodden sectors of the community.
Or the number crunchers who decide to author a book after getting bored with crunching, stumbling into a new industry and in the process triggering a new wave.

Is
it the earnest desire to actually bring about a change, by using
advances in technology and innovation?
The key lies in the
execution.
If you are able to get things done, while being passionate and
maintaining the best of character.
That is the secret to the
creation.
