Life is a stopover

Couple of interesting quotes that seems pretty cool when printed on a tee-shirt :
"Life is a rollercoaster, you just have to ride it"
"Life is a beach"
I trust life to be a stopover.

Say you are travelling from Edinburgh in Scotland to HongKong city, would you choose Paris, London,Vienna, Dubai or Singapore as stopovers (assuming you are not in a hurry to reach the destination).

Well with the shopping to be done in London, the art at Paris, the musical Vienna, the skyscrapper-oasis at Dubai and the smile of Singapore - I would rate the stopover to be an unforgettable experience, than the starting point or the destination.

The thrill in making most of the short time that you get in the stopover, is the complete package that I call life. By saying that you want to live your life to the fullest, is what you can make of the stopover. Do you want to sit at the terminal until the next transit flight or go out, explore, meet people, have new experiences and relish the spontaneous energy ignited within.  If you chose the latter, well that to me is nothing short of 'life'.

Food for thought: How would you like to travel in the stopover?

You could take a train, a cab, the sight-seeing bus, a bike or even hitch hike. This is where we could probably classify a person by his ride.

For example, a Ferrari for a road trip and stepping on the gas could get going from 0-100 km/hr in less than 5 seconds. A regular car does the same in 10 seconds or so. But the point is, both goes from 0 - 100 and covers the same distance, with different times. The experience on a Ferrari would be mind blowing as compared to the regular car. Yet there are times when the sight on the road is best witnessed at a leisurely pace, in which case a regular car would be a better option.

A interesting blog by an entrepreneur Which Train are you Riding, takes a dig at people and their career choices by contrasting the ride with their choice in life.

- The call centre guy turned support service guy turned analyst as the 'subway' rat.

- Senior executives riding the 'Inter cities'

- Government PSU folks with 'The cross country train'

- Family business / Entrepreneur folks with 'The long-haul train'

- Serial entrepreneurs riding all the above not as passengers, but as the 'train drivers'

I felt like adding one more to the list.

- Parallel entrepreneurs operating 'driverless trains' - neither riding as the passenger nor as the driver.

Now that is a category that excites me, wanting to get a taste of the afore mentioned; making most of the stopover.

In this stopover called 'Life', which ride looks promising?
