Bulleting across India

An article 'Ride of a lifetime', featuring the memorable shooting experiences of a new Malayalam release, NPCB, caught up with a thought of mine. Had been quite sometime that the desire to cruise on an Enfield bullet across India (in particular, the North) has stayed.

NPCB - Neelakasham Pachakkadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (Blue sky, green ocean and red earth)

Comfortable when traveling with like minded seekers, exploring the length and breadth, of the beauty that is the Himalayas. Its starts with participating in the occasional gathering of the local Bullet community in your city. Get the hang of it, when the meet-up and the togetherness ride kicks off.

Slowly pick a steady pace, the wind in the hair, cruising in harmony with the 'Tuk tuk tuk' sound from a train of bullets. No rush. Just the serenity of it.

The greenness of the countryside disappearing as the rider climbs the mountains; the snow capped peaks glistening in the sunlight.

Once as I chanced upon a saintly mother, of the order of yogis, and during a casual chat she enquired if I had any particular reason for the Himalayas beckoning. And I said, to ride all the way up, read a book under the starlit sky with people warming near the lighted fire.

She smiled and said, you must have been a Sanyasi in the last birth - the fire and the book symbolize that. After seeking her blessings, I had a twinkle in my eye as I pondered over the extended version of my beckoning.

The actual thoughts were to ride with a charming girl, and me lying on her lap while she read me a book - the fellow riders chatting while caring the fire.

The thoughts extend with the rider-duo advancing into the higher alps bordering France and Italy. And traveling further to conquer the stretch across South America, as they continue riding off into the sunset.
